hi-- my fiance and i are moving to the area. i will be working in somerville, nj and he will be working in berwyn, pa (near king of prussia). I know the commutes are not ideal - and there doesn't seem to be any way to utilize public transportation. We are thinking that doylestown is going to be the best compromise between the both (32 and 37 miles respectively -we figure about 45 min to 1 1/2 hours each way depending on traffic). it is not ideal but you do what you have to. Any recommendations on better locations to live, routes to take, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

what about the allentown, pa area? that would put you both within about an hour. plus, cost of living will be lower.

This seems like a good idea since the road network will be much better between the two destinations, although not in Allentown itself. Emmaus and Macungle among other suburbs just to the south of Allentown are supposed to be very nice. That being said, both commutes, especially into King of Prussia seem too much to me.

This is not going to work. I recommend one of you gets a different job closer to the other.

about an hr and 15 minutes on the train, so you're looking at 1 1/2 hrs+ door-to-door. i sure wouldn't want to do it.

Default Not a good idea

I commuted from Carversville (east of Doylestown) to Somerville for nine months and hated it. After I had two accidents in nine days, I plunked down a deposit on a condo in Somerville.
