There's also the Montessori School in Fort Washington. Used to be called New Horizons Montessori. The local school district there (Upper Dublin) is outstanding.

My friend is a 2nd grade teacher and he says teachers have a harder time with Montessori kids because of their lack of exposure to school as a place where one follows the rules, behaves a certain way, etc...He's in Portland, OR which is a very liberal area so I was surprised to hear this but certainly took it to heart when looking for preschools.

There is a new Montessori school in Wayne but I'm not sure what grade it goes to.

Phoenixville schools are better than average but there are many better districts in this area. Here are Philly Magazines rankings from a year or two ago:

The Walden School is a private pre-K through 8th grade Montessori school in Media, PA. Nearby public school systems are RoseTree-Media and Wallingford-Swarthmore, which are both highly rated in the state. Good luck!
