Hi
currently rent in clifton hgts... looking to buy in the county, 150 and less is my budget, pref single or a decent sized twin, if possible..

.friend said her husbands realtives live in essington, but the much nicer part of it... if i recall, essington is where clubs FOR MEN, and bars are, that deck and all that.. dont want to be around any of that garbage and dont want to buy in an area that wont be good to resell 5-7yrs from now.....1st time buying and so this wont be my forever place.....i have been looking in upper parts of brookhaven, dont want to be near chester and parkside areas.....parts of wallingford, , aston, drexel hill , lansdowne, ridley, glenolden, aldan.....upper chi....people say boothwyn is nice, or bethel area, yet when i look at them, it says marcus hook....some decent priced homes and good low taxes, but not sure of the area....dont hear good things about it...hate not knowing what some areas are like or not to live in and feel safe and have some space

any thoughts on that area???

There's a popular community of small 2 bedroom homes there but I was under the impression they are hard to come by bc the elderly scout them out LOL. My relatives live there but have had some annoying to sketchy neighbors. Airplanes fly overhead now and then but they're not a problem.

I would recommend you try to get into the Swarthmore-Wallingford, Rose Tree Media, Haverford, Springfield, Interboro, Ridley or Sun Valley school districts for best investment.

You may not be concerned with schools but potential buyers are. While taxes are high, Wallingford-Swarthmore schools are the best schools in the SE Delco area so prices will always rise rather than fall over time, unlike, say Upper Darby which is going downhill year after year..

yes i agree...this 1st home i doubt will be my forever home, and so we have to think about who would buy our house when we leave....not going to that area anyways, realtor said its not that decent of an area anymore....amazing, unless u have 200K plus, u cant get where u want even in these times that are supposed to be a buyers market.....cant win
