Default PA auto emissions/safety inspection costs?

Hi all, about how much should I be expecting for an emissions/safety inspection on my car? I have a 2005 Ford Focus if it matters.

I was quoted $70 for both, but I feel like that might be pretty steep. What do you guys think?

Thanks guys! I found a repair shop right down the road from me offering a half-off special, so my inspection and emmissions is only going to be about $35!

$80/year is terrible! Oh, PA....

I totally agree. Pennsylvania is ridiculous in this way.

Any chance you could PM where you take your car? I live in Chester and need a good place to take it.

I have a 94 jeep cherokee and my boyfriend is taking it for an inspection, and he says that it will only cost 31.50.. I don't feel that is true because before my dad passed he used to be a mechanic and he would charge at least 40 or more for it to be done.. I think that we shouldn't have to pay for it, It should be free because we have to pay for car insurance and everything else.

I brought in a running perfectly fine for 7 years car from florida and when I had it inspected here they made up $1300 worth of repairs. The PA system is a fraud.

If you are not paying for it, who should? PA inspection and emission are done privately. It cost them money to run the business. You could live in NJ instead where they don't care about your inspection (only emission for free) but you do pay for that via higher yearly registration fees.
