Default Young Professional- Moving from LI to Work in Trevose

Hi all! I'm in the final stages of interviewing for a job in Trevose. I'm going to fill out the survey to give you an idea of what I'm looking for:

When are you moving? Soon- late June, early July
Where are you coming from? Long Island (Suffolk County)
Why are you moving? Job opportunity
Where will you be working? Trevose
Have you been here yet? Yes

Will you buy or rent? Rent
If renting, are you looking for an apartment, a townhouse or loft? How much can you spend? I'm open to any- at college I lived in a home, but I wouldn't mind living in an apartment/townhouse/loft. I can go up to $1,000 a month, maybe a bit more if the place is right.
Do you prefer hi-rise or walk up? Either

Are you married or single? Do you have children? Single, no kids
Do you have pets? No, but possibly getting a dog? Not a deal breaker though
Do you want or need a yard? I would like an outdoor space, but it doesn't have to be mine exclusively
Are you keeping a car? Yes
Do you prefer bustling activity or calm and quiet? Activity!

What do you want to be closest to? Nightlife is a high priority for me, as I will be moving into the area, not really knowing anyone. I've had a 30 minute commute before, and while that wasn't great, it was tolerable. I'd like to access public transportation, so if I go out partying for the night, I don't have to worry about driving or an expensive cab.

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood? I'm a 21 year old white female- my biggest consideration is that it is a safe area where I can walk around at night without any major concerns. I don't care if its a homogeneous area or diverse.

Being a young person moving to a completely new area, I want to be able to meet new people relatively easily (i.e. bars), but I need to keep my rent at no more than $1,000 a month. I don't mind a commute under 30 minutes, and I would love to be near public transportation. I'm planning on playing rugby in the Philadelphia area, so it'd be great to be near a 'younger' area.

Thanks for your help!

Trevose is about 20 to 30 minutes from center city via route 1, woodhaven rd and route 95

There are a lot of apartments around there in your price range

it is a very safe area., check city data

there are a ton of malls , bars restaurtants etc within 15 minutes, Neshaminy, Franklyn Mills, Oxford Valley

there is also a casino within 15 minutes or less of Trevose

Based on what you're looking for I would highly recommend Manayunk.

Manyunk, although lively is a world away from Trevose, its more than a 30 minute commute by car
