Completely agree. This should have happened years ago.

I’m with southbound on this. Pages back, I gave reasons for my opinion on this development, which basically boil down to the domino theory. Owners will let their buildings fall one-by-one to developers as they become more valuable as tear downs.

This is a unique corner of the city which I find worth protecting. There are other plots that need developing outside Jewelers Row. Also, Toll Bros could develop a signature piece of architecture rather than one designed to disappear.

Yup, the domino theory raises it's ugly head on this.

Anyone who thinks that this is a good idea doesn't know that neighborhood, or why it has persisted.

I met a gem dealer who was liquidating his stock to retire. I got several thousand dollars worth of his odds & ends for a song. I want to get tools & some silver to do wirewrapping. I could get the tools elsewhere, but I want to get them from Hagstoz. I trust their quality. It's family owned & has been since T B Hagstoz opened it.

I certainly would love to see it preserved but like so many family businesses today will their millennials family members want to preserve it? Will the generation right after them, Gen Z, care? The oldest of them are in high school.

The tide turns on Delaware waterfront with two projects that welcome pedestrians - Philly

Inga's take on these projects. The renderings for the tower look fantastic.
