Looking For Revolutionary Architecture? You Won’t Find It At The New Museum Of The American Revolution | Hidden City Philadelphia
Yuck! The powers that be in Philly really need to get off the jock of Robert Stern (not to mention a few hackish local architecture firms who I will not mention the names of, but who seem to get shortlisted for every single civic project in Philly even after creating the city's most embarrassing local eyesores). Yes, the Comcast building is OK, but that's only because Comcast themselves balked at Stern's original design, and forced him to redesign it to look halfway decent, and not like something timewarped out of the early 90's, before they would sign a lease.

So, I ran across this today ...

Public Art Installations from Numen / For Use Design Collective | ArchDaily

Not my cup of tea, gotta say. A giant hammock people, that's what you'll be getting or we'll, rather. Aren't we done with "art" that scales things up? Kind of reminds me of this silly project,

You're kidding me? This is actually going forward? Does Toll Bros own that land? There was some article in the Inqy about Don Peebles wanting to put a casino there. It was a lot of crap but it makes me think the land is still up in the air as far as who owns it/whats happening to it. If Toll Bros is putting something up then I say good. We don't need a slot barn in Society Hill.

No I'm not kidding. Toll Brothers owns the lot... they bought it a while back. They always planned to start construction after they were finished with all of their work they are doing over in Graduate Hospital. (Naval Square and whatever the South Street project is).

Toll Bros. buys New Market property for $5 million - Philadelphia Business Journal
That's awful journalism on the part of the Inquirer then.

Or maybe Peebles just didn't do his homework.

That's weird... maybe he tried buying the site and Toll Brothers wouldn't give it to him.
