IMO, all those weird plans that were floated: senior housing, a school, etc. were wastes of such an important structure at such an important intersection (with a subway stop to boot) and this will hopefully take full advantage of the nature of the building and its location. I like to see high-grade structures kept for high-grade uses.
Agreed! Fantastic news. Now the question is... what to do with the land behind the Divine Lorraine? Does Blumenfeld now own this land too? Is it Possible to construct more Market Rate housing on this Land? Will a museum be built here?

I believe it came together as one parcel although I'm not 100% certain of that.

With all the new/proposed hotel projects in the area, it's a bit of a shame (IMO!) the Divine Lorraine couldn't be restored as an amazing hotel, just for history's sake. Could be a destination/attraction in and of itself, and the location's not too inconvenient. But maybe the timing's not quite right for that just yet.

Hope they do a nice job, regardless.

And yet another residential convert.

Lets hope the 19th and Arch gets built and we attract some new companies.

Lots of architecture firms in that building. Guess they're getting kicked out? The irony!

Agree, we need job growth in order for Philadelphia to have truly sustainable population growth.
