Wm Penn House
I was looking for specific information on its reputation, preferably first hand knowledge.

Oh, sorry. Not personal information, but from everything I've heard, it has an excellent reputation. I know in the past it had mostly elderly tenants, but lately younger, professionals have been moving in. I don't know if you would consider that to be positive or negative.
If you go to Philadelphia Blogs & Forums about Philly, click on Philadelphia forum, and do a search for "William Penn House" the first thing that comes up is a thread that may answer some of your questions.

Firsthand, there are lots of old ladies with walkers, but in general they are very nice people. Very quiet. Transaction fee to buy is very high compared to buying a place with a traditional mortgage and settlement, and the monthly fee is also pretty high comparatively speaking. Parking is great. It's in a great location. More young people are moving in, young meaning under 70!

I used to work in the office there. Most of the residents are Jewish and elderly. Other than that, that part of the city is awesome, close to everything, Rittenhouse Square. The bldg upkeep is decent and there is a gym and an inground pool on the top of the roof! I loved working there. If you dont mind old Jewish people, this would be fine.

Gret place to live. Was originally older but many newer people moving in since the units can be sold on the open market. New lobby, great pool, smaller gym, parking really cheap, close to everything. I have a larger efficiency there. I live out of town and am going to put it on the market. Lets talk.
