Default Friend Moving to Philly and home schooling

I've got a friend moving to Philly in the next three months. He's home schooling his children so schools are not an issue. Commute is his biggest concern. He'll be working around 6th and Arch/Market in Center City, and wants a commute of less than 45 minutes to work.

He's looking for a single family home, possibly a fixer upper. Any suggestions. Price will depend somewhat on home condition, but looking to spend no more than 350K.

Thanks in advance.

If a short commute is the primary concern, he should check out neighborhoods within and bordering Center City. Neighborhoods where he should find houses close to the 350K budget are Washington Square West, Queen Village, Fairmount and Bella Vista.

Default Plymouth Meeting Area

Without knowing any more details than the commute time it is hard to focus in on a specific area. Housing varies from one area to the other in the suburbs of Philly because the sprawl happened over a number of decades. Plymouth Meeting has 3 & 4 bedroom homes(older) in your friends price range.

All the best,

Will
