Default Is Philadelphia safe?

I live in Los Angeles & New York City. There are no areas in New York City or LA that are dangerous but I've gone to run down cities like Detroit, St Louis, Newark, Northeast Washington D.C. etc. and I felt nervous because of the crime. I'm staying in Philly in two weeks for three buisness meetings. One meeting is in Center City while the other meetings are in Hunting Park & Kensington. Are all these areas dangerous? I am a 5'2'' 27 year old Hispanic female. Are the any safe areas within the city limits? Should I avoid staying in the city? What areas of the city are safe to stay in? What is the likely hood of me getting assaulted, raped, groped, stabbed, or shot?

Center City is dangerous. There are about 1-5 murders everyday there. All the other areas are dangerous too. I work in Center City and trust me it is a scary place to work in. Philadelphia is nicknamed Killadelphia and Filthadelphia because of it's Filth, Poverty, and Crime rate.
I would not go there!

I would hope that jsupak is saying this "tongue in cheek". To vaguely answer your question, center city is very safe while the area around hunting park and kensington is not nearly as safe...just don't venture to far away from your destination and be smart and you will be fine. If it is of any consolation to you the area is largely hispanic.

Center city has like 1-5 murders a year. For being a very densely populated area this is a very low crime rate. This person is a liar and does what ever they can to discredit Philadelphia. Enjoy your trip and our city.

Very dangerous, and you'll be a victim for the first time if you haven't been one.
