Hi, all, I got a job in northeast philadelphia near the Bensalem. I wanna rent apartment near my job. The top budget is 1100 for 1b. Currently I'm considering Salem harbor apartment and water's edge apartment. Hope to get recommendations which one is better. I'm also welcome other apt recommendations. Thanks!

Beside, This is the first time to east coast. I m not sure about the average utilities fee/month (elect, heat, gas, water) in the winter? I have elder people at home all day in the winter. Thanks!!!!!

First thing to remember is that Bensalem is not North Philadelphia! North Philadelphia is a specific part of the city of Philadelphia along Broad Street north from Spring Garden Street all the way to the city line near Fern Rock. Bensalem is a suburb in Bucks County and nobody refers to it as North Philadelphia. The nearest part of Philadelphia to Bensalem is known as the Far Northeast.

Waters edge and Salem harbor are equals IMO. Why not expand your search to Feasterville and Bensalem?

Delair Landing (just south of Salem Harbor) seems nicer to me (gate guarded, balconys etc) and it is a little less expensive because it is in Philadelphia County rather than Bucks County. If you don't have children in school but you do work in the city it may be a better choice. Of course they all are nice.

Northeast Philadelphia is the area around Cottman - Roosevelt - Bustleton ... it's about 20 minutes to Bensalem.

It took me awhile to figure out what the hocky sticks you were talking about, but I think you are implying that the far NE that ajoins Bensalem is not the NE? Is that what you mean? If so I disagree. The far NE ie Franklin Mills/Toresdale is still the Northeast.
