Default Travel time

I am going to work in Thomas Jefferson University and looking for places around. If I stay in University city, how long will it take me to travel to TJU?
Also (2nd plan), which streets around 11th street can be good residential neighbourhoods for a single female?
Thank you ssoooo much for your inputs

You would take the 21 bus from UC to Jeff (goes down Chestnut Street, returning to UC via Walnut Street). It would take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Here is the schedule.

SEPTA

Jeff is in the Washington West area of center city. You are ok with any of the streets in that area (I would stay between Walnut and Lombard). If it is a small street, make sure it is well lit. I would choose that area over UC for convenience.
