Back to the topic, I actually didn't know that they bought out Stroehmann's. I guess that's one reason why they chose Plymouth Meeting as a HQ (because Stroehmann's is (or was) a few miles west in Norristown).
I believe their US HQ is in Horsham, not Plymouth Meeting.

Yes, I just checked and you are right. What I see in Plymouth I guess is the old Stroehmann bakery that has been re-branded as Bimbo.

Wow, I had no idea that Entemann's and Thomas was owned by them as well. Arnold's makes sense because their bread packages show a Horsham HQ. Also, now I understand Entemann's because for the longest time their HQ was in North Jersey (I believe) but a year or 2 I noticed it also said "Horsham".

Beeeembo.

Bimbo makes decent bread. You can buy it at Target. I love their honey wheat loaf. It's the only wheat bread that I've tasted that doesn't taste like cardboard.

If you go to a Philly Union game, they give away free loafs of bread after each (well, most) game. You'll see a line of people from the nearby Chester projects swarming the Bimbo truck for free bread...random people will emerge from the scrum...a loaf of bread in each hand, with that look of madness in their eyes reminiscent of black Friday shoppers...then scurry back to their cars...

They also have a creepy mascot. It's like the Snuggle Bear and the Pillsbury Doughboy mated.

As for the company...all I know is that they are allegedly anti-union and have a crazy amped up for profit corporate culture.

I don't think the Philly Union have helped their merchandise sales with having Bimbo as a sponsor...who in their right mind would buy a jersey with "BIMBO" emblazoned across the front?

I've seen a few. I think some people might get them because it says BIMBO - it's an attention-getter.
