I watched the first episode of the 6th season of How To Get Away With Murder the other day. When they did a cut-away shot to show they were transitioning back to Philly, they used stock footage from the pre-CCIT skyline days. I found it weird that they were using such outdated shots where it didn't even show it minimally under construction.

I remember when the show first premiered in 2014, they were using stock footage that didn't even have the original Comcast Center in it.

It's an ABC show, right? Who knows but maybe they are that petty about not getting the Comcast bldgs correctly.

The Irishman on Netflix is great and definitely worth a watch. The Friendly Lounge and Villa Di Roma are featured in it pretty heavily.

Sad to say that it wasn’t filmed in Philly. Those scenes were all shot in Queens.

Oh yeah, if you really know each city, you can tell. The street scene for Allegheny Avenue when Frank was still with his first family and he beats up the grocer is very fake looking lol.

Another mistake is when DeNiro and Joe Pesci leave to go on a road trip and they are like “we’re on 476”. 476 wasn’t completed all the way to Scranton until the 1990s.

Still any movie that casts Angelo Bruno, Phil Testa, and even Frank Rizzo is worth a watch if you like mob or Philadelphia history.

Another show that came out this week was “Merry Happy Whatever”. Which stars Dennis Quaid as a Bucks County Sheriff. This one won’t win Oscars like “The Irishman” will.

^The trailer for this came out this week too. If you pay close attention, you can recognize a good number of familiar places.

Scorsese did film the opera scenes in The Age of Innocence in the Academy of Music.
