I recently watched "Brotherly Love" on Netflix-set and filmed completely in Philly. I enjoyed it.
He was born in Newark, NJ but yes he spent a bunch of time in Philly. I think he also went to Overbrook HS like Will Smith but I will have to check on that.

Richard Brooks, a fantastic director of the 50s-60s(Blackboard Jungle, Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, In Cold Blood...), was also born in Philly. He went to W. Philly HS.

I wouldn't really call it a basketball movie-more like a modern and urban Romeo and Juliet. But one of the main characters is a basketball star at Overbrook High.

The triumphant conclusion to the 'superhero' trilogy that is 20 years in the making. Bruce Willis (The Unbreakable Man), Samuel L. Jackson (Mr. Glass), and James McAvoy (The Beast) face-off against one another. All the movies have been filmed and set here.

The poster was one of the top trending posts on Reddit yesterday so there is considerable amount of interest from younger people. Split, the 2016 film starring James McAvoy, grossed nearly $300mn at the box office. Which is a lot for a movie that isn't an expensive IP series filled with tons of special effects.
