Looking to move to area. Are there any places that are similar to newtown or doylestown? Looking for area kind of rural and would love to have a downtown. We are going to look aroun area and wanted to know where to focus on. Thank you!

To find rural in Montgomery County, you'll need to go to the upper parts of the county, pretty much all of eastern Montco is suburban. The closest places in feel to Doylestown and Newtown would be places like Ambler, Hatboro, and maybe Lansdale, all of which are in suburban areas. Skippack is a little more rural, but doesn't have the same level of attractions that Doylestown has, nor do Greenville and Pennsburg which are more rural.

I was also going to say skippack if you want a semi-rural feel without being TOO far away from the city. maybe collegeville as well.

I moved from the Northeast at a young age to montco, graduated from high school there and am now a college student in NYC. it really depends what your looking for, raising a family? Landsdale definitely has a little inner city area with a few bars and everything. Horsham is more of an upper class feel absolutely no night life but is next to Hatboro and Willow Grove which have more of a downtown and are alot more fun. Either way i would advise you not to leave the city, suburbs have pretty much no culture or nightlife haha

Outer suburbs, yes. Inner suburbs, not necessarily so.

I live in Lansdale, but got family who lives in downtown Doylestown, it's my favorite place. Great food, great stores, nice bars, an overall quaint feel.

Doylestown is definitely a nice place but as with any small town it gets to be the same old thing really quick. some people like that, i guess my views are a little slanted being that i am very young, if i was looking to settle down raise a family, or maybe to own some nice property than yes the burbs in montco and especially bucks county are very appealing
