I'm bringing people to Philly for the Mummer's Parade, but the conversation keeps coming up about what bar we will be at on NYE.

I have to entertain a pretty diverse crowd:

-single straight guy in 40s
-single straight guy in 30s
-single gay guy in 20s
-and my pregnant wife

Jokes and possibilities of a sitcom aside, here's our deal:

None of us like clubs and my gay friend just wants to hang out with us, so gay bars are out. Was wondering if there are any decent pubs or the like with a good looking, professional crowd in Center City?

Under $50 for cover would be ideal. Character is the most important. A run down place with character is better than a fancy pub with no soul. When I say "run down" though, I at least mean clean bathrooms. Thanks in advance . . .

NY eve is a tough night in many respects

Where will you be staying?

Do you seek any entertainment?

I might recommend:

Misconduct (smaller venue)
Smokin Bettys
Knotting Head
Happy Rooster

All a little more chill and may not be as young or crowded on NYer Eve
