Default Researching Bucks County for possible relocation

Hi. My husband just applied for a job in Princeton, NJ area. We're currently in North Carolina, so are trying to get a sense from afar of housing options. The folks on the NJ thread recommended posting here for info about Bucks County.

Our main considerations are:

-Excellent and safe schools (we have a rising 4th grader);
-Family neighborhood;
-Proximity to eventual job for me. I'm not faculty, but almost all of my jobs have been at universities and that would most likely be the best prospect again.
-Home price under $300K

Are there any towns/neighborhoods that you would recommend investigating? What would the commute be like to Philadelphia if that's where I wound up with a job? Any other considerations?

Thanks in advance!

Default Sorry for double posting

Was having trouble viewing previous post. Didn't think it had gone through. Embarrassed, and now can't see how to delete.

Are you just trying to be comprehensive? I am not sure why you want to put a bridge (probably a toll) between you and your husband's job.
Are you looking for cheaper homes, because Buck's County is pretty expensive.

Education (including private high schools) is the best near Princeton.
La Salle Univ
Holy Family Univ

Thanks. We had heard that there would likely be more housing in our price range + lower taxes in Bucks County area. Mostly, it's sounding like a bit of a headache--longer commute for him and harder to get to job options for me, but thought it would be worth inquiring. Appreciate the reply.

There is no toll on 95, on route 1 however there is. If looking in Princeton Bucks (Yardly/Newtown/Langhorne) could be a great option. These areas of Bucks are about 25 minutes into Princeton

Also this are is closer to Philly in the relative sense than most areas around Princeton are to NYC. Bucks while may not be that much cheaper for housing is considerably cheaper on property taxes.

Thanks! Am I seeing correctly elsewhere that train from Yardley to Philadelphia takes close to an hour? Is this a common daily commute?
