Point Breeze is in South Philly... so high number of murders hardly a surprise. Plus there's still those projects that replaced the towers, those projects are good for a half a dozen murders a year or so. Parts of South Philly, thinking specifically between snyder and oregon east of broad are worse than they were 15-20 years ago, a lot of it is dirtier, dingier than before. But the insane amount of development, reduction of crime, and increase in educated and well paid residents in the northern parts of south philly adjacent to center city is so crazy that I agree overall South Philly is over all much better today than 15-20 years ago. I mean hell even Point Breeze is rapidly gentrifying along its northern border. I mean that's just crazy. Even in 2008 at the height of the real estate boom, there were a bunch who though that was decades away from happening. South Philly's future sure looks bright... though it's present can be quite dangerous if you turn down the wrong block.

This is what toobusytoday, the mod of this form says..

A side note to posters - It's not unusual for a city forum to have a crime thread. It often helps to keep all the bad stuff to one thread instead of numerous posts about single crimes. Got a crime that you want to talk about? Do it here.
