He may not be the worst police commissioner Philly has ever had but he sure isn't the best.
Lol..after they paid him all that money a year or two back to keep him. The fact that crime was slightly higher in 2012 vs 2011 doesn't make him look good at all. Philly once again has the highest crime rate out of all the big cities (Although Chicago almost took the title,) which flat out sucks for Philly.

I just don't understand (and maybe its above my pay grade) but how is it that the city can know as Summers pointed out that more than half of the murders come out of North Philly..and it seems like nothing is being done about it.

Keep reading those crime reports, maybe they'll sink in
I don't think he's disputing that, he's educating you on something that you seem to not know much about. There's a big difference from 'Top Crime rate in the nation' vs 'Top Crime rate among the biggest cities.'

I was around for some of the Rizzo days, albeit in my single digits. As I once said in another thread, perceptions of Rizzo's tenure as police commissioner and mayor will vary and are highly polarized. Certainly, there are some people who will disagree on the fairness of his methods in literally cracking down on (alleged) criminals. The de-industrialization of the city, as already suggested, certainly didn't help as many of those who could leave did so while those who couldn't often became involved in or surrounded by criminal activity. While affluent singles, childless couples and empty nesters are revitalizing Center City and beyond, I will concede that it can be difficult for a middle-class family to find a neighborhood with the ideal combination of affordability, school quality and safety.

Maybe they need to bring back Mayor Goode's 'MOVE' moves

You'd think that someone with "truth" in their username would place a higher value on the concept.
Misinformation isn't useful to anyone, and doesn't make for productive debate.
