Very nice and beautiful area. Great location. Are you talking about a particular building?

I agree. Lovely tree-lined streets, good restaurants in the neighborhood, convenient to Center City.

It's pretty nice, but there are particular stretches to avoid. Also, there seems to be a trend toward more crime (property crime and violent crime) in that area recently. Maybe it just seems like it's getting worse, but I'd say it's not as insulated from crime as Center City (which, of course, isn't completely crime-free either). I'm male and in the past I've spent a lot of time walking in that area, and it's not like it's bad, but there have been times when I haven't felt too safe. There was one occasion when I was verbally harrassed for no reason (or more likely for being white) while walking on Fairmount Avenue. Still, last time I was looking for an apartment, I did look in that area.
