Default Questions on Phoenixville and Malvern

To anyone who responds to this, thanks in advance!

My husband may be getting a new job in the near future, so I am looking for information to help make a decision if we need to relocate.

I was looking at Malvern and Phoenixville. I really like what I have read so far about Malvern, it seems like it could be what I am looking for. We are a young couple in our 20's with a son who is in elementary school. So of course our concerns are a safe neighborhood, good schools, and activities like soccer and cub scouts etc would be great to have around.

The Great Valley School district seems to get good reviews. Is living in Malvern very expensive? I am sure we would need to rent for now, something with 2 bedrooms.

How does it compare to Phoenixville? I haven't found much on the Phoenixville school district. Do you know if it's on par with The Great Valley school district?

I've been reading these forums and they have been very helpful, but I would appreciate any insight anyone can give.

I used to live in East Coventry, which is right down the road from Phoenixville. (We are selling our home there and I really loved it) Malvern is a bit expensive. Phoenixville is a nice choice if you like an older type home/community. We chose East Coventry b/c of the schools-Owen J ROberts. It is a blue ribbon school and we found it to be the best. (We thought we would be raising our twins there, so that was important to us.) Also, we found we could get more for our buck in East Coventry. For example we hava a 3000sqft luxury townhome there and paid $306 and $306 in the surrounding areas only gave us older homes and about 2000sqft. And, E Coventry and Phonexville are both close to 422, a major plus if your husband has to drive. And, I likes that the Coventry Mall was about 5 minutes away.
If I were you, I would be looking into Phoenixville and E Coventry over Malvery IF price is an issue.
Good luck! That part of PA is lovely. I know GV Schools are good too but I think Own J ROberts is better and I think Phoenixville is part of that, but I am not positive.

Great Valley is a safe, rural school district. The houses are getting more expensive there because it is a growing area.

Phoenixville has more of a town atmosphere to it than Great Valley.

You will probably find that Great Valley is more expensive than Phoenixville.
