Default North Wales, It seems perfect is it?

Is north wales a good place to live if you dont mind the population being 3,000 plus and if there are not alot of stores around? Do any of you know anyone from North Wales, pennsylvania. is there anything i should know about the place before i move there?

North Wales is a cute area! It is known for being a nicer, semi expensive area. The town itself is quaint, but you may end up doing a 5-10 minute drive to Lansdale or Montgomeryville for most of your shopping. It's close to Montgomeryville Mall, which has a lot of restaurants and stores. There is a train station there that goes to Philly. In terms of jobs I'm not sure there are alot in North Wales itself, but there are plenty of opportunities in surrounding areas and closer to Philly.

We live ten minutes away. Nice area. Very convenient. Train station has plenty of parking and you can get a good seat. About a 45 minute ride into Philly during rush hour.

Lansdale is nice, as well.

The population of the borough itself may only by 3,000, but it's part of the contiguous philadelphia suburbs so not at all remote. the montgomeryville commercial corridor along Rt 309 is less than 10 minutes away via North Wales Road. It's a very nice looking town which i believe is relatively affordable. when you get into the surrounding sububan townships of Upper Gwynedd Twp, Montgomery Twp, Towamencin Twp, etc, there is a decent mix of middle to upper middle class housing.

North Wales is a nice place to live. People are friendly and nice, very convenient when it comes to shopping and the schools are good. The only problem is that it is quite far from the city and I think that's why housing is still relatively cheap there.

My uncle and aunt live in North Wales, and we visit them every summer, usually staying for a few days to a week. I've always thought it was a great little town, and this year my family and I especially enjoyed it. I went running a few mornings and discovered a great park just on the edge of downtown, with a small network of running/walking trails. I think it had both tennis and basketball courts, as well as a public pool and a *fantastic* playground that my kids highly enjoyed. I'm not sure I've ever seen a playground so huge - with extensive wooden nooks and crannies to explore (like a fortress or castle), and lots of seating for parents as well. The pharmaceutical company Merck is in North Wales, or Gwynedd maybe - and they were the top financers of the park, which explains its magnificence

There are also a few other smaller parks throughout the residential area of the city, and in general I've always loved running in that town.

We had a great time taking the kids on the train. Lansdale is just two stops away, and Doylestown - a cool historical town - is the end of the line.

There are some fun shops in downtown North Wales, including a few coffeeshops and bakeries, Tony's Pizza which gives us our East-Coast pizza fix whenever we are out there, a running store, a winery, a water-ice stand, and I think an independent hardware store too.
