I hope Villanova didn't pay for this.

She does sound nasal, though, so there's some type of accent going on. It sounds vaguely NY but not as strong -- maybe North Jersey?
No doubt, basketball, Bartley Hall, and Driscoll Hall, not too Philly to me either.

The girl at 1:20 looks slightly SAT challenged, but silver spoon gifted, along with her buddies in the Beemer.

Wow, guys... she's obviously Queens/LI - the cue - she's nasal. Nothing Philly about how she talks. She wrests on her "s'" way too long to be Philadelphia. Whoever says that's a Philly accent definitely isn't from Philadelphia.

Hey, all, I appreciate all the opinions and insight. I've lived in quite a few states and love accents. Having known a Villanova grad, the perfect phrase to test a Philly accent seems to be "put a coat on." That one's classic. But YouTube is NOT interactive.

There's an accent/grammar peeve out West that bugs the sh it out of me. In SoCal, we said "it's across the street," with 2 s's at the end. In NorCal, and all the way up to the Canadian border, one can detect a subtle "it's acros(t) the street." To me, that indicates old-line NorCal, OR, or WA roots that came from the Midwest on the Donner or Lewis and Clark trails, respectively.

But zeroing in on metro NYC, I too would have picked Queens, or adjacent Nassau County on LI, first.

Still, neat little video if you've got a kid that's considering Villanova.

She sounds like an older Jewish woman, originally from South Philly maybe living on the Main Line. Maybe she's from Princeton. I hear old ladies that sound pretty similar fairly often. Her accent is more refined and a bit more nasally than most but dead giveaway that she's NOT from North Jersey or Staten Island is how she says "classroom."

What stood out for me is when she says Vill-nova. Can anyone read anything into it?

Brooklyn accent to me is Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny.
