Nice to know at least one that is coming there. They need to do something about that lot at 18th and Callowhill.

Also, I just went up to the art museum on Sunday and thought they should get rid of that parking lot and build more cross walks from the oval. Later that night I read a report saying that this would be done! I should start exploring more of the city and say what I wish to be done with it. It seems to have a nice track record so far...!

If that is the case, well... we could use a bit warmer weather. Not much, but just a bit You can thank me later.

I think it is a great sign that these occurrences are happening. It is showing that Philadelphia is changing rapidly for the better and making the type of changes that people moving into the city want to see, which will make them want to stay. More and more, Philadelphia is getting the type of retail, restaurants, and cultural institutions that will bring people in and keep the citizens of the city wanting to go out into the city and truly embrace it.

National and regional retailers are very interested in metro Philadelphia, according to the panel. (Above is PREIT's The Gallery at Market East.) The catch: They're chasing fewer available spaces than before the recession, so competition is strong. A wave of retail development—especially in mixed-use—is a distinct possibility, with some projects already under way in the city and suburbs.

It's a two steps forward and one step back of city. Lose a Border and gain a Target. It needs way more retail, especially downtown. Things are improving, albeit very slowly.

Hasnt every city lost a borders?

They closed all their stores in every city, correct?

Philly lost Daffy's too - Is that Philly's fault. Or is NYC in even worse shape losing 5 of them; I guess NYC is 5 times worse than Philly with your logic

Kamee... a high end women's apparel retailer has opened in the Shops at Liberty Place. The Aldo in there has only closed for renovations, it is not closed for good.
