Do you think you'll prefer living in NYC in 5 years? I love NYC, and have never had the opportunity to live there, but I really like the pace and size of Philly. Yesterday was about as great of an urban-lover's day as one could ask for, and I don't think I could have enjoyed it any better even in NYC (or maybe not as much).

Thanks for staying tied into the Philly forum.

Chelsea, right? I used to know people who lived off of 8th Ave near the Joyce Theater back in the late 80s/90s. And when Barney's was there I used to shop there. Man, I miss that store! But I haven't hung there so much recently. Last time I was in NYC I was in Brooklyn near the art museum...spent very little time in Manhattan.

When I was younger, trips to NYC used to invigorate me. Nowadays, I feel suffocated if there are too many people.
Several weeks back when I was walking down Market East, I was thinking "I kinda understand why the NIMBYs really opposed the East Market and FOP developments. In 2 - 3 years, this area potentially could get dense with people. Especially since it is right there by Jefferson Station."

PS: You are not that hot topless (presumably italian) that jogged by Drexel on Saturday, are you? :P People's thirst was real when he passed by.

I think Market East needs the energy though. It one of the few missing links in CC, along with Western Market St. And no haha, I had tank top and joggers on.

Idk, I really love NYC, but realistically buying an apartment in the neighborhoods I want to live in will be a problem in 5-10 years. I love Philadelphia as a city, but I needed to get away from it. So we will see with time. If money was not an option, then I would likely stay in NYC longtem, unless of course my career changes. I chime into the NYC forum, but I still identify with Philadelphia new and development.

Yes on off of 8th ave. Next year when my lease is up I want to head a little further east though. You know last year Barneys re-opened its original store on 7th Avenue?

Omg, no, I didn't know that. I won't be going to NY again till Sept though so it will be a little while before I can check it out.

^^Nice, nice. One more vacant spot filled on Walnut.

Both the Ralph Lauren spot and the Capitol One Cafe spot are close to having commitments too. Should hear more info on though soon.

I just noticed that NINE WEST is gone on Chestnut. Is it moving to one of those two leased stores on Walnut?

I think Nine West is sadly another victim of the retail downturn:
