I've lived in Center City West twice at two different times (3 times if you count South Street). Best neighborhood ever!!! Everything, literally everything, is a short walk from your front door. Plus it's beautiful. If you're a friendly person you'll meet people fairly easily.

People in the U.S. love foreigners (especially American girls). Don't fret

I have two close foreigner friends, one from Ireland and one from South Africa.

You got that right. Australian guys are #1 with guys from the UK being #2 in terms of popularity among American girls. The accent is what gets them, so emphasize that and you will be golden, hah.
