I've only eaten at Osteria and Amis (other restaurants by the same chef/owner as Vetri), and I can vouch that they are outstanding - in menu, execution, and service. As good as really great restaurants in New York. I can easily believe that Vetri (the flagship, I guess) is top-notch.

You really do have to read the content of the reviews, because there are people out there who will give 1 star because, while the food was excellent and service mostly excellent, the server made the mistake of bringing out an order of extra dressing in the wrong kind of ramekin. (True story!). There are some real pearl clutchers out there. But it can be informative if you take the time and treat reviews with a due amount of skepticism, whether they're good or bad.
