Let's not turn this thread into a running crime report. If a specific incident compels you to post a link about it here, talk about what makes it unique.

Like the guys that are running around Old City and Fishtown robbing people at gun point.

This is how easy it is for an assault to turn into murder.
Philly man sentenced in Old City beating death - Philly.com

They are real fast to talk about how murders are down, but they don`t tell you rape is up 20%. It`s all about smoke and mirrors with some people.
Rape is up 20% because they redefined the definition of rape and therefore more incidents qualify as such. Total crime is down 10% and robbery with a gun is down 10%. This is after a drop last year as well. Stop trying to act as if everything is still just as bad or getting worse, because it simply is not the truth. I've made several posts about robbery, assault, and rape, but they are gone with the previous thread. These things are always important alongside murder, but murder is the most significant crime against a person. Getting control of the murder rate will no doubt have a big impact on crime in general, because if we're cleaning up neighborhoods and stopping the sort of crime that involves murders, then less crime in other categories will follow.

Out of the thousands of people who walk around Old city and Fishtown everyday, ask the if they're afraid of a few stick-ups.

Most have no ideal what is going on around them and there are a lot of people who want to keep it that way.

Are you being serious? Can you prove to us that those communities are being significantly impacted by these gunmen?

Have you ever had a gun put to your or maybe your mother? I wonder how much of a joke would it be then.

Did anybody say it was a joke? If I had a gun put to me or my mother (who isn't alive anymore) I would know that I am not the center of the universe and just happened to be the (un)lucky victim of probability. I wasn't a specific target; I am just another statistic. What would the likelihood if it happening again? Again, I would have to turn to statistics. Pathos arguments don't work very well with me.

While I agree that posting only the more violent crimes makes sense, I would hardly say that robbery is meaningless. I'm sure the victims don't feel that way either.

Anyway, glad to see this thread is back. I will follow the guidelines

Default home invasion in the NE

Not far from my old home. They killed a older lady. Horrible.
