President Trump is one hundred percent right about the mainstream media. That's why they and the left (and for many other sick reasons) hate him as strongly as they do.

Trump hates the media. He hated it since the 80s at least. His thin-skin refused questions not praising him.

He just needed to learn to SPIN it to a non-answer and the next question etc. Instead Trump went ballistic in the interview and did barge out of some.

One infamous one was in 1990 when he opened the Taj Mahal Casino in AC. He wanted JUST PRAISE FOR IT ALONE ... by the interviewer. But he vented at the interviewer and media in the SAME FASHION AS TODAY. Has nothing to do with since he became POTUS.

He has points yes .... but he NEEDED TO KNOW how to spin it away. NOT A TANTRUM.

Trump admitted thin-skinned and taunted the interviewer and PROVED HATE for the media.
1990 yes its a CNN interview.

Not related to this topic to .... but to totally blame and accuse the media .... is a core Trump-ism today still. Trump probably then did everything he could to try to destroy that interviewers carrier. As is his demeanor.

Blaming the media for its open and obvious race baiting, division creating agenda has nothing to do with Trump or Trumpism. It’s a fact and pre-dates Trump and Trumpism.

So it’s still not a gay bashing hate crime? Give me a break.

Like the white flash mob in 2014, anti-gay slurs were thrown during a fight, it’s a hate crime, this is a hate crime as well.

It's his agent now claiming to have been on phone with Smollette during the "MAGA attackers'. Total disgrace the media and political manipulators ran with it without any fact-finding or verification.

As long as white people, especially whites males are perceived as the aggressors against blacks, hispancis, asians, native americans etc.....it's a worldwide breaking news story. Hate crimes against gays in Center City by African Americans, silence.

It's weekly doses of this nonsense, but that's the point of it all. Retaliate and take-out white people, especially white males.

The fact that Philly Mag even associates itself with Owens is beyond comprehension.

The media is a total sham. Trump's right about that.
He doesn't think Fox is a sham...but much about him is OT here.

Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst created, or helped boost, yellow journalism decades ago.

So all the fake race crimes news is OK then, interesting. Well, at least you agree it exists yet it's odd you've never mentioned its existence before now.

Social media certainly wasn't around during Pulitzer and Hearst's eras, now we have anyone who wants to report or create yellow journalism out there.

Do you really justify though the yellow journalism of the media/journalism manipulating crimes involving race to create racial division in 2019?

Do you really consider Pulitzer a part of yellow journalism? He couldn't have been that bad, it is the hightly-regarded Pulitzer Prize for Journalism after all.

Look, anybody who's honest with themself knows what race is taking the most hits when it come to racially-charged attacks ... But the media, Hollywood, academia and most of the Left are doing their dangdest to make it appear as if the opposite is occurring. Weak and young minds are being brainwashed en masse.

One, as I've tried to explain to you already, racial division existed then and still exists now; the news media may whip it up just as the President has enabled the white bigots, but it wasn't created out of thin air. Hindsight is 20/20, but in retrospect, we should have been able to predict a backlash on the part of the soon-to-be white minority (or will it be a minority really?) to the election of Barack Obama as President.

That's the way the cycle of racial progress has moved since this country was founded: periods of advancement followed by periods of retrenchment. Perhaps the stories are shaped the way they are because their creators fear the retrenchment?

Two, kyb01 is right: yes, Joseph Pulitzer did his part to advance "yellow journalism" too. His first paper, today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch, was then and is now a solid, respectable publication, but his later, larger creation, the New York World, was as sensationalist as they come. Much as Andrew Carnegie's libraries, concert hall, Endowment for International Peace, pension fund for teachers and "gospel of wealth" ("Give it all away before you die, or let the state give it away for you" - in his words, "He who dies rich dies disgraced") were in many respects his efforts to atone for his sins as he built his steel empire, so Pulitzer's endowment of both the prizes and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism were his efforts to atone for his coarsening of the craft.
