Red face I need info about Lebanon PA

My husband and I are from Northeast Pa and moved down south about 3 years ago we are planning to move to the Lebanon Pa area really soon
I don't know much about the area but we would like to buy a house there I was told not to buy one in the city of Lebanon so I was hoping someone could give me info about towns around the city
We have children so I need a place with a good school district and I would like to live in a low crime rual area if you know anything about this area could you fill me in

I know Myerstown and Annville have good school districts, but that's about all I know about Lebanon County. You may want to post your question on the Pennsylvania forum; you'll probably get a response from someone more knowledgeable about the area then me.

Lebanon has had some problems with crime, this is similar to Lancaster and Reading and Allentown but on a much smaller scale. It's a smaller more rustic version of Reading, IMO. I know the 422 corridor east of the town pretty well. Cornwall( south) is said to be nice, Myerstown is rural. I listen to their AM radio station 1270 for morning talk sometimes and they have regulars that complain alot about little things, which is what Berks countians do, but we're a little more sophisticated, . Like Berks or Lancaster, Lebanon County is low crime outside the city.

I grew up in Lebanon, and still know people there. Most people choose to stay away from the Lebanon City schools, and gravitate to the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. I know less about the Elco school district or the Annville school district, both of which are also in Lebanon County. My sense is, though, that the Cornwall-Lebanon SD has the edge.

Angelbaby4904, you'll probably find more responses on the general Pennsylvania forum. Lebanon is about 85 miles away from Philly. There may be some people there who commute into job centers like King of Prussia and Malvern, but Lebanon is actually much closer to Reading, Lancaster and Harrisburg.
