They both were connected to University City. Well, UC didn't quite exist when Einhorn was "operating" and he was more about Powelton Village.

I haven't read much of this thead but Heidnik used to live on Cedar Ave. near 46th and Baltimore Ave.

Did Troy Graves get brought up who was the Center City rapist/killer who got caught in Colorado? He lived in UC too in an apt building at 41st and Baltimore.

The one I remember most is the Reinert Murders - Susan Reinert, a teacher, and her two children were murdered. The children were never found. Susan's body was found in a car near Harrisburg. The suspect was a fellow teacher, I believe, at Upper Merion High School. When I was working in Phila. in about 1988, I worked with a guy who bought the Reinert home (at a deep discount). I remember some co-workers would tease him that one day he'd find the kids' bodies there. Creepy!

Main Line murder case echoes 30 years later - CNN.com

Another one that stands out in my mind is the Cherry Hill rabbi murderer - Rabbi Fred Neulander who hired a hitman to kill his wife and mother of his three children, if I remember correctly. My sister and her family had belonged to his synagogue prior to that. He may have even done her kids' baby namings. Yikes! I think he was having an affair with radio personality Elaine Soncini. Wow, he even has a Wiki page. And the two hitmen he hired have since been released from jail (fairly recently).

And now, thanks to reading this thread, I probably won't be able to sleep tonight!
Yes, Sylvia Seegrist wore fatigues.

Agree that Fred Neulander case was memorable and shocking. He was indeed having an affair with Elaine Soncini, widow of radio personality Ken Garland. When I first moved to South Jersey in the late 1970s, my car only had an AM radio. I used to listen to Ken in the morning, when he would constantly refer to "E.T.L.", which stood for Elaine The Lovely.

My husband just reminded me about Thomas Capano murdering Ann Marie Fahey:

Convicted Delaware killer Capano dies in prison - philly-archives

What a sociopath! Tried to blame one of his other mistresses for killing Fahey. I remember the endless media attention this story got.

Default Darci Murder

Seeking information on the Darci murder. Phillip now lives in MS under the name Sorvino. He lives next to my inlaws wirh his two daughters. He never allows the girls to go outside and is very much a hermit and doesn't like any attention focused on him. After causing issues with my inlaws I researched him and came across the information about the murder of his son.

I heard about this about two years ago. I'm 26 my cousin was talking about Marty Graham and Gary Heidnik ...Marty Gram my stepmom and cousin knew of him.

Stepmom Reaction:
She said it was summer of 1987 , August i believe. She told me he was the guy in the neighborhood who if you asked "Clean the backyard for five dollars" type ya know. She explains that when everything came to light she felt like he did not commit the murders , just based on his personality from what she had seen. She felt that someone else had did it and that they asked him to help him put the bodies somewhere. I think she mentioned he had bit of a mental problem but did not seem harmful at all. She said the house was on 19th / Oxford St in North Philly. Others in the community had felt like she did thinking he did not do the crime. My stepmother also said two of her girlfriends was among the victims in that house, when we spoke about it and i asked her if someone did a documentary about it would she be comfy about it and she said no...it bothered her and made her feel a way from her facial expression.

Cousin Reaction:
My cousin recalls going to his home at a young age. Marty used drugs. Her aunt and Marty was good friends, they got high together...she explained that Marty knew who he could do somethings with and to. Pretty much him and the aunt got along pretty well. One particular day she was with her aunt and her aunt went to Marty's house to get high, she say they was there for a few hours and she said his house was dark, clean in the area she was at and that the only light in the house was from the front door being open. She said she was sitting in the living room and she felt like someone was standing behind her or something...she felt really uneasy and that's when she said she called her aunt and told her she was going home. She rushed home feeling uneasy. Cross connection , her best friend at the time mother had went missing. The mother did drugs and was missing for awhile....when the story broke and the victims was identified she found out that her friends mom was dead in the house that she was at and she felt so bad and didn't know how to respond. The idea of being in the house where your best friend mom is dead somewhere and not knowing his mind blowing.

Hearing those two stories kind of made me like "Yikes, the 80's really was a gruesome time." I couldn't imagine how my cousin must have felt finding out her friend mom was in the house dead, and to think that's why she felt so uneasy about Marty's house. I also was told that the day the story broke it was during a real hot day and someone or some people had smelled a real strong stinch and thats when the discovery was made. But someone had called prior and something happened and the cops didn't do anything. But this Marty Graham guy no one really speaks about him.

Do you mean Dacri, as in Tanya and Philip? She was a meth fiend who chopped up her baby and Philip helped hide the body.

For me, it was probably Eddie Polec. He was beaten to death on the steps of St. Cecilia Church in Fox Chase in 1994. I was living in Olney at the time, but my family used to go up to Fox Chase to swim at the public pool, so it felt close to home. It was also completely and utterly senseless.

There is information about the Dacri murder in the beginning of this thread. Someone even listed a link to an article about it.

Neulander. I worked at the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey during that time and remembered the very pompous rabbi visiting every so often. Nasty, narcissistic, uppity man. He was best friends with the big boss. After the you-know-what hit the fan, we employees were instructed not to speak with any reporters who might come in and ask questions.

Also Heidnik, that one stands out but thank God I had no connection to it.

The new case of the four young men in Bucks Co., whom we can assume now are all dead, may end up being significantly memorable.
