Anyone notice all the bands downplayed themselves? It was the same MO, rather uninteresting songs for the first half and the second half the best ones. For a lot of the bands, given the time they had, couldn't have played all their best songs let alone have time for any bad ones.

My brother in law told me he was listening to his scanner this weekend and couldn't believe how many calls he heard at the event for cell phone robberies, fights, etc..

When you have tens of thousands of people in one small area on a hot summer day, there are bound to be a few incidents.

Not to mention, unfortunately, the exact same crimes (e.g., rape, theft, fights) occur in Philly on any given day, regardless of a major concert going on -- so let's not act as though none of these things would have occurred had the concert not happened.

I just don't know what people are gaining from constantly complaining about these sorts of things. The "Made in America" event provides some very good publicity and serious economic benefits for the city. This is the kind of event many other cities would love to have, but the organizers chose Philly for a reason.

Predictably, that part of the conversation is completely ignored on here...

If you read the article about the girls that were raped, both girls were completely moronic. The first girl went off by herself with a guy she just met to his house. The second girl got in a car by herself with complete strangers.

As far as thefts go... really? That happens everywhere all the time....

What'd your parents teach you as a kid? Don't take candy from a stranger. I'm not saying they caused the rape, but they certainly didn't help their own cause in preventing it.
