Excessive heat probably is the bigger killer in the Philly area to be honest. Once every few decades a Hurricane hits but is diminished as Philly is like 40 miles from the Ocean. Som big Noreaster snow storms but after you dig out all is well

Dont think it will be under water, ever

The eye of Sandy literally crossed right over the city last year

For Philly that was a good thing as more dmage was to the north of the storm - Which sadly was bad for North Jersey and NYC

Anyone remember in the movie A.I. how rising ocean levels in the future submerged NYC and transformed Philly into a vegas-esque coastal city of debauchery and ill-repute called "Rouge City"?

Philly seems to be just safe enough an area to get a little of everything, but not take massive damage. I think the only real threat is the Yellowstone super volcano...and I don't even consider that a threat. But, if you consider lava really, really hot water and not really, really hot rocks...then yes, possibly we can be underwater.

Not too many blizzards, but a bad ice storm can mess things up for days.

Most common flooding is from broken water mains. But creeks and rivers overflowing after heavy rains is not uncommon. Main St. in Manayunk, one or both of the River Drives will also flood. Don't think downtown Philly has flooded, though.
