Hi everyone. I am headed back to Philadelphia Dec 26 to Jan 1 and would love to try some new places on this trip. I would like to hear your favorite place for lunch or dinner, what type of food and what neighborhood its in. We are open to try almost any type of food and we will have a rental car so were mobile. We are staying in Plymough meeting but will be driving allover. Bonus points if anyone can recommend somewhere good in Manayunk as i know we will be there one day. Thank you all in advance

Brunch in Manayunk: Go to Winnie's Le Bus. Meals start with freshly baked cornbread and home made jam, and get better from there.

Haha-it tastes better than I can describe it but it's pretty much room temperature cheeseless pizza with a great sauce and crust-really traditional (although maybe unknown to outsiders) Philadelphia food. The breads are great too-stuffed with ham/cheese, cheesesteak, pepporoni, chicken/broccoli, sausage/peppers, etc.

I recently moved to Mt. Airy from the East Passyunk area. Compared to my old neighborhood it feels pretty sparse but there are still some great options. I have enjoyed (in no particular order):

1. Earth Bread & Brewery (my favorite so far)
2. Umbria
3. Wine Thief
4. McMenamin's Tavern
5. Geechee Girl Rice Cafe
6. Mt. Airy Breakfast & Lunch
7. Little Jimmy's Bakery
8. High Point Cafe (crepes!)
9. Avendia
10. Chef Ken's cafe

I also liked Mi Puebla but I seem to be in the minority. I have heard the bakery is good but I have not tried it.

I have been meaning to try:
1. Goat Hallow
2. Calypso
3. Jyoti

I have not ventured up to Chestnut Hill too much except to go to McNallys. CH certainly has the bigger Restaurant selection.
