I recently returned from a trip back to Vietnam and my blog is available at back2vietnam.blogspot.com
I was a friend of Charlie Glenn and still talk to his aunt online. I also remember Bill sessions and chat with his sister online as well.
I went to school with Jerry Conroy, Jack Senwesky, Johnny Rooney (now deceased), Bill Strunk, Denny Mickles, Kathy Spross, Carolyn Bernard, Loretta Pawlish and many others. Please point them to me if you know them.
I served in Vietnam and will never forget the day we found out that Charlie was killed. I wrote several poems about him on the Wall website. I never knew this site existed, until I came across it today. I lived at 1107 Marlborough St from 1950 to 1962. When I was 16, my family moved to Jersey. I used to be best friends with Cookie. I recognize some of the names you mentioned, like Billy Strunk, Denny Mickles and Kathy Spross and Tommy. sho it appears has posted here also. They lived across the street from me, down at the corner of Wildy St. The kids I remember who lived on my street were Pat Hardy, Billy and Eddie McCann, Donna, Judy and Joyce Brown, Peter Drucker, Joe Silberberger. I dated Joe for a while before I moved to NJ. I have two sister, Carol & Sue. I remember Pat Searle who dated Pat Hardy, and her friend Marie, whose last name escapes me right now.
I wasn't catholic, so I went to Chandler School, Penn Treaty Jr High and Mastbaum for 2 yrs. I graduated from High School (Pennsauken HS) in '64. However, I remember the Immaculate Conception School and Church. Alot of good memories there.
I used to keep in touch with Cookie, but it's been many years now. I think the last time I spoke with her, she and Michael Casey had divorced.
Oh, I almost forgot ... my name used to be Pat Kirby. It's Robinson now and I live in Eastern Kentucky. Big change from Fishtown!
I can't recall your name. Maybe because we are a couple of years apart in age. Where exactly did you live. If you've already said, I missed it. Sorry.

I remember you, if you had a sister named Kathy and lived at the corner of Marlborough and Wildy.
If so, do you remember us? ... Pat, Carol and Sue Kirby? I'm Pat or Patsy as some used to call me.

Pat, the name is familiar but I can't remember. I wish this site would allow e mails so it would be easier to talk. I lived on Richmond between Shacky and Frankford. Went to school with Jack Senwesky who had cousins on Marlborough - Joe and Jim Windfelder. I wrote an article about Charlie Glenn in the Fishtown Star Remembering the day Vietnam came home | Star Publications | 05/21/2009 If this site is removed just google Fishtown Star Staranowicz

May be I'm older than you guys but I was born in Episcopal Hospital and my father drove Trolley on Allegheny Ave. I lived on Cambria Street until I moved to Olney in 1950. I was in Vietnam twice.
Imagine my surprise when I got to San Francisco and found this driving down Market St.

I live in So. Cal. but I lived in Fishtown, Philly from (approx.) mid 73' to mid '75. I was 16-17 1/2 yrs. old. I LOVED IT THERE! When I lived there, Fishtown was a clean, quaint town with a small, peaceful town atmosphere. I've been gone a long time but I'll never forget the people I knew while I lived there,( they were all awesome people!) and this is the reason I'm posting this message. I'm hoping that somehow I'll be able to reconnect with someone I knew. I lived where Girard and Marlborough St.'s intersect ( I hope I'm correct on the street names). The Marlborough Inn was across the street from my apartment which was above what was then, The New Star Restaurant. This restaurant was owned and operated by some Greek people who were great cooks! Walking down Marlborough St (?) from my apartment towards what was then called Penn Treaty Park was a laundrymat, a library, a police precinct ( I've forgotten the precinct number), a Philly Cheese Steak and Hoagie Sandwich Shop, a small market, and various other businesses. There was also a huge hospital called St. Mary Hospital on Girard St.(?) or maybe it was on Frankford Ave,(I'm not sure of the street) where I had my son whose name is Michael. My doctor was Dr. Harvey Kleinberg whose office was right down the street from my place. I'm looking for a Bob Garrett (aka Queball, worked at Jack Frost Sugar Co.), Gerald (Gerry) Anderson ( his mom's name was Virginia), Queball's friend - Chuckie, another guy everyone called Hunter, another guy known as Yahtzee ( his first name, Joseph, can't spell his last name but he was Ukranian),he had a girlfriend named Denise, a guy known as Kashmir ( he was Czechoslovakian). These people were my closet friends when I lived In Fishtown. I know this is a hell of a long shot and that I can only hope that I hear from someone who knows (knew) any one of these people. If nothing comes of this post, I still enjoy reading comments from all you cool people and I miss the Fishtown, Philadelphia that I lived in way back when. Hope to hear something re. this post. Thanx to you all, ROCK ON!, Victoria (Vicki from So. Cal.)

Also spent time in Fishtown
We lived on Shackamaxon while attending Immaculate Conception about 1954 then moved to 414 Richmond Street and transferred to Chandler Elementary. Left for the west coast after a year at Penn Treaty. Had a chance to fly back for a visit about 6 years ago to find both homes torn down. Friends were Billy McHenry and his many brothers, Helen Muzyczka, family were Ukranian, Thelma Humphrey, Charlene DeMar and many others. If out there, share your memories.
