Jim Gardner of Channel 6 is an icon. It is always a riveting experience when he looks into the camera and with his deep voice tells the region about a murder in Fishtown or a Fire in Camden. His authoritative delivery is the stuff of legend. We are faced with the reaity that he is getting older and probably sooner than later this Legend will have to step down. It will be a sad day. Channel 6is already in decline with a wussy new staff of anchors unfortunately waiting in the wings to take over. Jim Gardner stay as long as you can. Not just Gardner but Lis Thomas Laury and Monica Malpass. Move closer to the World my friend. Take a little bit of time. Move closer to the World my friend and you'll see!!

Hopefully Jim can go on for a while. He's great!

But Channel 6 in decline? I hardly agree. It's still by far the best Philly news station.

Fox 29 is a bunch of unprofessional clowns. NBC is on the rise but not as good as 6 ABC yet. CBS is always just "meh" in Philly.

I hope Action News keeps that Shirleen Allicot around ... Anyway, I think all the local news stations suck because all they seem to worry about is weather. " ... BUT THE TOP STORY TODAY IS THIS WEATHER! IT'S GOING TO BE 58 TODAY WITH SOME WIND TO THE SOUTH!!! TAKE PRECAUTIONS!!!!" I can't stand it.

Is this another sarcastic baiting email? I've noticed 1 or 2 others recently.

It's very important, for every weather story, to have a reporter physically standing in each state of our tri-state area. Very, very important.
