I agree. Panera has better food. Their danish is awesome.
Their chicken wild rice soup ( I always order with an extra baguette to dip) is to die for.

I can make better soup and salads myself any day of the week. I'm in SWCC. You guys can stop by any time and I'll charge you a third of what Panera Bread charges.

Yea.... its weird that the company has not opened a Philly store before. Were they looking for new construction, downtown, thousands of square feet, low rent, high foot traffic? I would bet that a bunch of Paneras will open in Philly to compete with all the cosi's out there.

I would compare Panera more to Au Bon Pain than I would to Cosi.

I suppose in the suburbs Panera Bread is actually a significant metric of whether the burb is good or not. In that regard this may help a lot to change america's view on philly for the better
