This Saturday - it is around 77 degrees, and partly cloudy. Rains on Friday until early Saturday.

Is it a good time to go to the NJ coast? In general, for how long will it be possible to stand knee deep water level - as in will it be too cold to stand in the water for 30 minutes, or will be a just right day - not too hot, not too cold?

Thanks!

It's always a good time to go to the New Jersey coast!

This time of year? I'd get the bottom of my feet wet for five minutes. The ocean doesn't usually warm until August. If it's 77 inland, it may be a bit cooler on the beach.

This is how it's done: Get really drunk the night before. When you wake up, you can fix your hangover by jumping headfirst into the ocean (it WILL be cold, but that's what you want). Stay in as long as possible, you'll be fine.

A board at the beach said the air temp was 82 degrees. The water had some chill to it, but we stayed in the water knee deep for almost an hour. There were some others in the water fully drenched. Overall, really enjoyable.
