This is outside of the boundaries that you established, but Carmen's Steaks in Reading Terminal Market is an excellent place to get a mouth-woodering (please excuse my Philly accent!) cheesesteak!

Truthfully, I'd rather talk about hoagies.

I'm one of those weird Philadelphians who loves cheesesteaks, but hates most hoagies (though the argument can be made that a cheesesteak is a type of hoagie). The only types of hoagie I would consume are meatball marinara and chicken parmigiana.

Well, there are cheesesteak hoagies. lol

I don't dislike cheesesteaks. But they kinda bore me. Meat, cheese(with sometimes awful stuff like cheese whiz). That's it... And if the bread is cr@ppy, which is too often the case.... omg.

Old time Zeps, which come from Norristown, are a hoagie variation in that they don't have lettuce. Tomato, onion, lunch meat. I like those a lot.

You're familiar with the RTM, yes? Try a small Italian hoagie from Salumeria and see what you think.

You know I have not had a cheesesteak hoagie in years and remember how good they were. The steak on the roll with lettuce and tomatoes on top................"YUMMY
