Default Commute from Ft. Washington/Ambler to Trenton

Can anyone tell me how the morning (6:30-7:30am) and evening (6:30-7:30pm) commutes are from the Ft. Washington area to the Trenton train station? Is there much traffic on the PA Turnpike and Rt. 1 during these times?

Thanks!

I commute from Willow Grove to Bensalem every day, so I travel the PA Turnpike during the same times. As far as the Turnpike goes, traffic is almost always flowing at or around the speed limit during the morning rush. I don't travel RT 1 from that point, but I don't believe there are any normal delays. During the afternoon rush, the Turnpike sometimes has stop & go traffic between Willow Grove & Fort Washington, but that's about it. The opposite direction, however, sees heavy delays. The bulk of the Turnpike traffic travels westbound in the AM & eastbound in the PM.

Hello, ScottK.

I drive up Route 1 daily, past the station. My husband often did the reverse commute Turnpike W to KOP.

It's a quick zip from the Phila. exit up 1 at 7 am; however, backups at the Rt.1 bridge (which is currently under major rebuilding/construction) are very common after 7:30. If the road backs up from the river back to the Oxford Valley Mall, some people get off and actually drive all the way around Trenton up 95, and then reverse commute back down Route One to get into Trenton. Doesn't happen often.
