I'm moving into the Tacony area of Philly at the beginning of December and would like to know what the best option is for internet. I'm looking for internet only, I do not want cable or a phone line (unless it comes at no additional cost), and the most I'm looking to spend is 50 per month

See if you can get DSL from Verizon.

FiOS® Coverage Areas & Availability | 1-800-600-4387

You can enter the zip code to see if Fios is in your neighborhood. IMO and from experience with both Verizon and Comcast is that Verizon is slightly more expensive. Granted I get cable and internet. My current package is really cheap with comcast. It is basic cable with blast internet and it is around 60 dollars a month.

My deal with Comcast is internet at 45 a month, +8 for renting the modem. How much is your bill exactly and what kind of plan do you have? I'd be willing to pay a couple more bucks a month for basic cable, but only a couple

I honestly am not that happy with the package I have. I get the basics plus random channels like food network, CNN, travel, history, discovery, etc. It has everything I need except ESPN and Comcast Sportsnet. This drives me insane that they have a seperate sports package. So I have to find alternative means to watch. I think my bill just went up a couple dollars since the new year too.

Well based on Philly.com, Comcast customers will see a 3.5% increase in Feb on their bill and if that happens it is CANCEL.COM

Ah, never mind. ESPN and other sports networks were the only thing I was interested in.
