It's no great thing to have a job where you are underpaid and miserable. It maybe better than no job but the person is still broke and depressed

Mmmmm. I don't believe this is true. I'm curious as to where you got your numbers from.

As of 2011, the median household income in Philadelphia was $34,207.

No, it doesn't say that. It says "Median household income, 2009-2013", no idea what that range implies.

growth, at 4.2 percent, was sluggish, failing to keep up with inflation. The growth rate was lower in the city of Philadelphia, 2.9 percent; the seven nearby
suburban counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey did slightly better than the national average.
I don't see any official numbers for 2013 specifically.

Is it better to have job loss? Job creation is still a good thing even if it's low wage work, particularly in a place known for double digit unemployment. It's not like the psd is churning out rocket scientists. Places with lots of low wage workers are going to struggle on income those with lots of people with degrees will do better.

It says growth was sluggish... but it was still growth. You said the median household income was falling and falling, which implies declining? No?

I'm a little confused why you're so against Philadelphia gaining jobs. Even if it is low wage jobs, it is better to have job growth than job decline. No?

Philadelphia has a large population of people with no college education, it's better for them to have jobs than remain unemployed. Do you think otherwise?

And Philadelphia's college educated population is growing. And I believe high wage jobs are growing too. We've seen a growth in the eds and meds sector, technology, finance, bio, etc.

Are we really implying that ALL job growth is low wage jobs? Lol.

I'm sure there is more, just don't have time to keep looking lol. I know Philadelphia sucks when it comes to job growth for a multitude of reasons mainly because of anti business tax policies but it can't all be doom and gloom can it?
