The area is just booming with new restaurants, hotels, medical buildings and luxury apartments. And more luxury apartments are scheduled to be completed this fall along with the sports bars, and boardwalk. I am so glad I decided to move to UC due all the new business and it will only get better.

Then you have that major building at 3737 Chestnut will be completed on August 1st and then it will really be big time.

If it isn't considered Philly's second downtown it ought to be. Not many cities in the US have such a vibrant area with an eclectic mix of students and professionals, schools and hospitals as University City.

It definitely has a different vibe as if it's not apart of downtown. Seems like it is too close to formally be a second downtown though.

I would like to look at it as an extension of downtown. We just need to fill in the missing links along 22-23rd and Market.

And enclose 76 that is under the bridges. The noise coming out there is horrible. You can't even have a phone conversation in the park across the river.

Yeah I look at it like this, sort of like how the near north side of Chicago is like an extension of the Loop across the river

Yes. University City is definitely Philadelphia's second Downtown, if not an extension of "Downtown."
