posting under my husband's login:

I'm curious if you made a decision on this. My husband and I are in the same situation deciding between Phoenixville and Media. We will probably rent first to be sure about the area we choose. We grew up in Lansdale area and have lived in Maryland for 12 years but are moving back to PA. We are in our 30's with a child looking for a great place to raise kids but with a city feel with lots of restaurants, culture, activities, etc. We do not have the issue of the commute. My husband works at home and my job is mobile. However, my husband likes the idea of being closer to Philly for the airport, sporting events, etc. But we are not sure if it's worth it. Seems like we would get more for our money in Phoenixville. Our budget is 400k max. We also dont know the areas around these locations well such as collegeville, wallingford, upper providence, etc. Seems like school districts are good for either choice. Our biggest concern is finding a great community/city.
