Ah we deserve it. I wish Ed Rendell could be mayor again. He is the best salesman.

Excellent news! Now we have the World Meeting of Families and the DNC. Great exposure for the city.

He CAN run for mayor again. Afaik there's nothing, legally, to prevent it.

Although I really want new blood in that office. Like Brian Simms.

This is excellent! More profit for the city!
I am sure the city will make sure to "clean up" a bit before it happens. Just like what happened when Atlanta was picked up to host the Olympic back then.
And more incentives for some of the retail developments such as East Market to complete soon I hope.

And yes to brian Simms!

I'm glad the recent chowderheaded union activity at the Convention Center appeared to have no sway in the decision.

I was watching some reports of Fox and MSNBC and I love how reporters still refer to Philly as a "rough and tumble area" and "we all eat cheesesteaks" as if the entire area is some third world child who somehow was chosen to host and event like this.

I cannot stand that outdated stereotype. I wanted jump through the TV.

It will be sparkling. Don't worry about it.

When the Republican Convention was here in 2000 there was a noticeable difference in how the city looked. We have a lot more going for ourselves now than we did 15 years ago. So it will be a great time in the city.

I wish we could clone Brian Simms. So we could keep one in Harrisburg and convince another one to run for mayor in 2019.
