1. What is the price range?

2. What's the best store to go to?

Thanks

Warning: Make sure the box spring fits up the stairs!

Price range is pretty wide-you can spend thousands.

The price range depends on the shop you go to and how much you are willing to pay and the best store to go to depends on the type of bed you want.
The answer to both of your questions can only be answered by you.

Do a search online for your area for mattress companies or go to any number of department stores that sell mattress and box springs.
It is best to go to the shops and lay on the beds and compare them so you have an idea of which is the most comfortable for you.

You will get total crap in that price range. Like my father always told me, we spend a third of our lives in bed so a quality mattress is very important.

Even if you live on a first floor you might want to consider a "split boxspring" (i.e. it's two pieces) because a couple of years from now you might decide to move to a second floor rowhouse.

I bought from Sleepy's when I first moved here. Queen mattress + boxspring + frame + cover = around $2300. Make sure you get a split boxspring, just in case you end up moving somewhere else down the line.

I bought one year's ago a Raymour & Flannigan and am very happy with it. I bought the bed frame at the same time from them, but they had trouble coordinating the delivery! I think the mattress was supposed to be delivered free the next day, but the frame wasn't free and would be a few days… but it all worked out.

One tip that someone gave me - if you're buying a spread/comforter for a queen, get a king-size instead. I was disappointed that my queen coverlet was barely big enough. I did the same for blankets.
