I have been trying to figure out whether my EMV credit card (with the chip) is working before any future international travel where I may need it to work. Unfortunately the 2 locations I've tried to use the chip (instead of swiping) have both failed.

Can anyone confirm a store location in Philly where they've been able to successfully make a chip transaction?

I want to know that their terminal is working (with EMV activated) before I assume it's a defective chip. The credit card company says that the transaction doesn't even show up as attempted to read the chip (and then used the magnetic stripe as backup).

FYI. One place I've already tried is a self-checkout line at the Northeast Philly Walmart (9745 Roosevelt Blvd). I work around there but live in Center City so stores around those locations would be most appreciated.

Can anyone confirm that a particular Walmart in Philly has the EMV feature of the terminals activated?

I don't know for sure whether it's my card or their terminal that isn't working and from a few forums it appears that EMV hasn't been activated at all Walmart stores yet.
