Have you ever had a Korean 'pork' taco? Delicious.

That's "second door in from the NE corner of 11th and Chestnut."

The NE corner of 10th and Chestnut is the old Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia building, now a Jefferson medical office building.

1037 Chestnut would be well away from the intersection of 10th and Chestnut, which would have 1001 at its NW cornr.

Noted. I realized this later, but couldn't edit ... I'm sure FBJ will find it.

Maybe this is out off topic.
Why do you guys think that these bums are still lingering there, while I believe the city provides shelter for them? And decent things to do?

The St John's Hospice is nearby on Race St. That could explain it. Project Home can only do so much.

Years ago, I mean YEARS ago folks, just east of Chinatown, starting at 9th and Race, was Philly's Skidrow complete with flop houses. It was our version of NYC's The Bowery before it became what it is now.

Speaking of bums there's still a "contingent" of them around the old Family Court Bldg. on Vine St.

I remember that. Before they built the Vine St Expressway, they were concentrated around that area.

That is depressing. I wish I could do something about it to help.
And it is very difficult to help them because aside of food I can give them, I don't know how I can help them without giving them money (which I am afraid will be used to buy drugs).
Even sometimes when I asked them whether they needed food or sometimes hot beverages during winter, they would refuse and asked straight for money.

Contact Project Home. They're a terrific organization. The money for the new housing at the intersection of Ridge Ave, Fairmount Ave. and Broad St was given by Bon Jovi's foundation. Project Home's main offices are located on Fairmount Ave, a couple of blocks west of there.
